Calspan formulated the concept of in-flight simulation in the 1940's and has been the world's leading provider of these services since then. This form of simulation provides real world visuals, cockpit accelerations, and flight stresses by using a highly modified aircraft that can be made to respond to the pilot's inputs with the same motions as the simulated vehicle. Calspan's fleet of in-flight simulators currently consists of three Model 20 Series Learjets operated from our Niagara Falls, NY facility and the VISTA NF-16D operated for the USAF Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB, CA.
