The Calspan 8-Foot [2.438 m] Transonic Wind Tunnel is the only independent transonic test facility in the USA, providing quick response, impartial, customer oriented services since 1947. The Calspan TWT is a continuous flow, variable density facility with maximum clear tunnel Mach number of 1.35 and can be operated at stagnation pressures from 0.25 to 3.25 atmospheres.
Calspan TWT serves the US and international aerospace community, having accumulated more than six decades of high quality test experience. The TWT's 150,000 hours of testing on over 1,000 different aircraft and missile configurations includes these proven test techniques:
Performance, Stability & Control (S&C)
Captive Trajectory Simulation
Captive Carriage Loads
Free To Roll for abrupt wing stall
Inlet / Jet Effects
Acoustics
