Calspan has a legacy of over 60 years of force measurement and wind tunnel test experience that includes the design, development, fabrication, and calibration of strain-gaged balances of all types. Increasing accuracy requirements are met by continuously improving the design, fabrication, and calibration techniques.

While wind tunnel measurement remain the most common use for these highly accurate, multi-component measurement instruments, non-aerodynamic applications have been successfully demonstrated. Anticipating the future needs of the aerospace industry has led the team to examine new systems, sensors, and other advanced approaches to balance technology.
