Comprehensive Advanced Maneuver & Upset Recovery Training program
will give you the confidence to recover from Jet
Upsets. In-Flight Simulation offers the missing link between
the cockpit accuracy of the Simulator and the real-world
look and feel of actually flying the jet. Technology originally
developed for the military and used for advanced flight
training for over 25 years.

In-Flight Simulation Learjet uses a programmable
fly-by-wire flight control system that allows you to safely
experience real-world Jet Upset events and to master recovery
techniques proven effective through an extensive government
funded research program.
This 2 ½ day program integrates classroom instruction with flights in an Aerobatic-Certified
Beech Bonanza and the In-Flight Simulation Learjet. The
classroom instruction includes a thorough review of the
accident data to learn about the types of Jet Upsets that
have caused Loss-of-Control accidents. The complex subject
of transport aircraft aerodynamics is presented in simple
terms that are easily understood. Finally, recovery techniques
with emphasis on both primary and alternate control strategies
and the appropriate use of automation are covered.
The two training flights are designed to complement each other. Each teaches
you to manage the critical balance between your aircraft’s
capabilities and the desired recovery performance. The
Bonanza flight builds enhanced situational awareness and
teaches basic recovery techniques. The In-Flight Simulation
Learjet uses Jet Upset events programmed into the simulation
system to teach advanced recovery techniques sufficiently
unique that all pilots show significant improvement —
including those with previous aerobatic or military training.
What makes these aircraft ideal for this training is that
they represent the cockpit environment of your aircraft
while at the same time have ample safety margin and in
the case of the Learjet, an automatic safety-limit system.
