Calspan Flight is a full-service flight test organization with a team of experimental test pilots, engineers, mechanics and technicians. Our team operates various jet-powered airborne testbeds and provides test support services for all programs, including autonomous flight testing.
Calspan’s multiple wind tunnels operate continuously to produce high-quality data to reduce uncertainty. From subsonic to hypersonic, our wind tunnels can perform the speeds you need. Our agile teams are great collaborators who ensure customer tests proceed in an organized and timely manner. Throughout the testing process, we manage potential risks with our integrated model and test solutions.
Calspan’s Autonomy Flight Test Center meets your autonomous flight requirements. Flight testing can be performed on our Learjet’s and Gulfstream GIII’s. After recent modifications, the X-62A jet can also operate as an autonomous airborne test platform.
Calspan’s portfolio of 14 wind tunnels are the only independently owned and operated facilities in the United States. Ranging from subsonic to supersonic speeds, Calspan performs and supports customer test programs during all phases of development.
Calspan Flight operates our team of airborne testbeds out of an impressive 80,000 sq. ft. hangar on the Niagara Falls, NY International Airport (KAIG). Calspan operates several transonic wind tunnels including the 8T Wind Tunnel based at our HQ in Buffalo, NY. We also operate a hypersonic wind tunnel and 13.5” supersonic wind tunnel off-site.
