Certification Testing to PAS 68:2013

The PAS standard 68:2013, Impact Test Specifications for Vehicle Security Barrier Systems, was facilitated by BSI Standards Limited and published under license from the British Standards Institution. It was created to address a broad range of incident conditions by different vehicle types, at different impact velocities and to define acceptable penetration limitations to help define passive perimeter and active entry point barriers applicability based on the setback distance available at a particular site. This is accomplished by establishing a comprehensive range of test conditions, designations and penetration performance levels.

PAS 68:2013 Barrier Test

Calspan’s barrier testing facility is uniquely suited to service markets across the world, with the ability to certify barriers to the PAS standard 68:2013. The test track facility combines a flat and level asphalt surface with a mounted rail and axle-mounted roller system. This combination of equipment means that the facility is capable of adapting to the needs of a variety of barriers, and may be quickly configured to provide testing for a variety of barriers or standards.

Our data is delivered with high speed and real-time video, and additional cameras can be used to capture non-test related angles for use in promotional materials. We provide a detailed report that thoroughly explains procedure and outcome.

In addition to PAS 68 testing, Calspan provides the ability to test on an international scale with IWA and ASTM testing.
